About the spugium collective (collective is a cool word)

Spugium is the creative outlet for a vast array of coders, musicians, painters, 3d artists, writers, sentient artificial intelligences, philosophers, hackers and various other possibly metaphysical entities. On spugium, Cool Stuff is made, packaged, shrinkwrapped and released by the nanosecond. Not only is our knowledge of quantum physics such that we can accurately predict decades upon decades of entropy, we even have a direct motherfucking connection to John Lilly's Earth Coincidence Control Office.

At the moment, spugium mostly resides in the Netherlands, where we possibly provide you with the following:

• Software. Using beyond-the-box thinking, gratuitous overengineering and a knack for designing patterns, we code. The fruits of our labour? Great, boundary-pushing, Giganteprise-ready© software.
• Music. After years of research, we have managed to succesfully clone Beethoven. Since the man is deaf, we taught him to decode raw mp3 streams by reading hex representation and let him loose on the internet. Ever since, spugium has been releasing a variety of musical masterpieces.
• Poetry. But not the emotional kind. Our poetry is so manly and mechanical, it has been known to cause spontaneous existence of Rube Goldberg machines.
• 3D Art. Blendering and 3DS Maxing to create our very own style of better-resolution-than-real-life art.
• 2D Art. Like our 3D art, but less threedimensional, and more twodimensional.
• Philosophy. As it turns out, Nietzsche, Plato, Kant, Korzybsky, and possibly all other philosophers were wrong in their interpretation of reality. We are not. We are right. Blindly trust us, and as a result you will be showered in Great Happiness and Eternal Salvation (and perhaps more).
• 1D Art. Straight lines that are just the right length. Yes, we're that good.

Boldly go where no browser has gone

When the idea finally set that the much untouched powers of javascript could unleash a wave of digital violence across browsers worldwide, the brave men of spugium set upon a quest to create a http-shattering webbased real-time strategy game. Using the totally unsupported animated PNG format to create a set of moving, smoking and exploding sprites this game is set out to become a real time shooter like we know of the desktop games. With the server pushing data to the javascript client, it runs entirely native in the browser of tomorrow.

Ofcourse aPNG is a great, vast and staggering project. But manly as we are, we find time to create and build some of the other grand ideas we keep stored in our bodies. We have even created stuff in the past! This seems amazing, but it is not once you consider we are traveling forward in time.
